Centrifuge tubes are usually made of high-quality polypropylene (PP), a material that not only has excellent chemical stability and mechanical strength but also can withstand a temperature range from freezing to high-temperature sterilization (such as 121°C autoclaving). This enables centrifuge tubes to be used under a variety of experimental conditions. To prevent liquid leakage during high-speed centrifugation, most centrifuge tubes are equipped with tightly closed LIDS. Some special designs also allow gas exchange while maintaining leak-proof performance.
